COVID-19 CLOSURES & POLICIES

To Ensure Staff, Client, Tenant, and Volunteer Safety

New Dawn is committed to protecting the health and welfare of its staff, clients, tenants, and volunteers. We are especially concerned with the safety of the most vulnerable members of our community, including our Meals on Wheels, guest home, and homecare clients. Our priority is to continue to deliver our essential services while helping to prevent the spread of COVID-19. As such we are taking the following precautionary measures. This page will be updated regularly.

UPDATE

RE-OPENING JUNE 8, 2020

As of Monday, June 8, the New Dawn offices and buildings will re-open to the general public. This includes:

  • New Dawn Centre (37 Nepean Street)
  • Cape Breton Island Centre for Immigration (319 Charlotte Street)
  • The Convent (170 George Street)
EXCEPTIONS

The following buildings/offices will remain closed to visitors/general public until further notice:

  • New Dawn Guest Home
  • New Dawn Home Living

MAKING PAYMENTS

We encourage cashless transactions when visiting our sites to make a payment (i.e. Homecare, Meals on Wheels, rents, etc.


VISITOR ALERT

Staff, tenants, and visitors will be expected to abide by physical distancing protocol and practice proper hand hygiene and respiratory etiquette. Information has been posted in all three buildings about these protocols. Arrangements have been made for additional regular cleaning of all three buildings and additional hand-sanitizing stations installed. We look forward to seeing you all again in these spaces.

If you exhibit any of the following symptoms, please do not visit our buildings until you are symptom-free.
