With over 30 years of experience in the Cape Breton Regional Municipality, New Dawn Homecare is beginning to offer their services in the Strait/Richmond area and Victoria County.
Throughout the spring and summer of 2018, New Dawn Homecare conducted a community needs assessment in the Strait/Richmond area and in the fall began to connect with both prospective staff and clients.
With word spreading of the variety and quality of services offered by New Dawn Homecare, individuals throughout other parts of Cape Breton became interested in having client-centered personal care in their communities.
“What we heard during our needs assessment was a real need for the services that we offer,” says Janine Hussey, Manager New Dawn Homecare. “Whether it is to provide stop-gap service assisting with personal care and activities of daily living, or for more regular service such as light housekeeping and other home supports – we know that people across Cape Breton need our valuable services that help to improve the quality of their lives.”
As client needs continued to increase in these areas, New Dawn Homecare hired Anne Marie Dempsey as Community Relations Coordinator for the Strait/Richmond area and Victoria County. Anne Marie brings twenty-two years of experience as Resident Counselor Worker, as well as experience from both Supervisor and Administrator roles at Louisdale Community Homes. Additionally, to help manage the administrative offices, Cori Hemmings was hired to provide part-time administrative support for all areas that New Dawn Homecare serves.
“To see the need for homecare grow, and to be able to serve that growing need is so gratifying. Not only are we hiring caregivers to meet the demands, we have been able to offer employment to several full and part time administrative staff who come to work every day ready to make a difference in the lives of our clients and their families.”
